On Friday March 21, 2025, the Estonian Ministry of Climate (Kliimaministeerium) hosted a national-level workshop in Tallinn to discuss the functional requirements of eFTI platforms under the upcoming Implementing Act. The event, titled “Discussion on the implementing act on functional requirements for eFTI platforms“, was organised as part of Estonia’s preparations for the EU-wide eFTI regulation, with support from Digilogistika Keskus.
The workshop brought together future eFTI platform service providers and key public stakeholders to review draft legal provisions on platform architecture, data exchange, and compliance responsibilities.
The workshop provided a platform for in-depth discussions on how real-life freight transport scenarios should be reflected in the upcoming legislation and Implementing Act. Ensuring that all relevant voices are heard and that sector-specific needs are addressed early in the process was a key priority.
Interoperability, access control, and data security were central topics, along with the broader readiness for EU-wide data exchange. Participants highlighted the need for clear guidance, practical use cases, and a flexible approach to implementation.
This event marked an important step in Estonia’s eFTI journey, supporting a collaborative and future-ready approach to digital freight.
