On April 16, a dedicated webinar organised by eFTI4EU project partner Transport Innovation Association (TIA), in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), brought together stakeholders from across Europe to explore current practices and future perspectives on the digital exchange of freight transport data. The session, titled “eFTI and Other EU Initiatives to Consolidate Transport Information Data and Exchange it Among States and Economic Operators”, featured expert insights from both public and private sectors.
The webinar opened with a presentation by Ieva Markucevičiūtė-Vinckė (MC Mobility Consultants), who introduced the requirements and solutions for consolidating transport data — focusing on the comparison between eFTI and eCMR.
This was followed by Teemu Heikura (Fintraffic), who discussed the need for a robust digital backbone in the EU, showcasing how reference architectures and seamless data exchange mechanisms can support the digitalisation of logistics.
In the final session, Karl Strack (GBK Trusted Partner) presented the current status of electronic transport documents for dangerous goods, and the path toward EU-wide interoperability. He also highlighted the role of the eFTI4ALL Pilot Project, showcasing how the transition to eFTI is already underway through practical use cases.
The webinar also included an introduction to the eFTI4EU Project, which aims to facilitate harmonised and efficient implementation of the eFTI Regulation across Europe.
