Estonia Pilot

Estonia wants to be a testbed for the whole of Europe, creating a functioning data network between the state and private sector, creating opportunities for sharing freight data between companies and the state. Assumption is that speeding up data exchange will provide a significant economic effect, reduce bureaucracy and help create a fairer and more transparent freight market than before.

To prove this, Estonia supports the creation of all components necessary for the operation of a single, open standards-based eFTI network for both domestic and international freight transport. Through the pilot, plan is to test the possibilities of the eFTI legislation and point out positions that need to be supplemented.

eFTI Gate Reference Implementation

Main focus is test of working eFTI gate prototype with real business data from economic operators, potential future eFTI platforms operators, eCMR service providers and national authorities. Piloting is planned to have two phases. Firstly, the POC (Proof of Concept) is carried out, second phase will be based on POC results to develop eFTI gate working prototype and reach to technology readiness level (TRL) 8.
