France Pilot

France innovates and invests in the dematerialization of freight transport.
As part of this innovation process, France has committed to be part of the first program to implement the eFTI regulation: eFTI4EU. Together with the consortium, we are developing the eFTI Gate, which, starting tomorrow, will enable all EU Member States to control dematerialized documents for freight transport. The consortium’s, and a fortiori France’s, goal is to create and test a technical and functional eFTI environment that effectively addresses real-world challenges.

To achieve this, France is conducting realistic tests and organizing pilot, outlined below, which will make it possible to best match the challenges of the regulation and those of our economic operators. At the same time, France is also investing in the certification of eFTI platforms and accreditation, necessary for the eFTI ecosystem. The entire consortium is focused on concrete and pragmatic implementation and is part of a global European approach to interoperability.

Pilot test between control application and eFTI Gate France

The main objective of this pilot is to test the interactions between a control application and an eFTI Gate. In particular, this involves verifying that the information from the simulated eFTI platform is indeed found on the road control application, during a request made by the control application to the eFTI gate. To do this, there are 3 sub-objectives: to develop or recover the bricks necessary for the implementation of these two applications; to test the nominal case of a control with the eFTI Gate; and to provide feedback on the specifications if necessary. These actions will be carried out after the planned tests on road transport and will allow France to validate the running of the eFTI Gate on all transport modes and on multimodal.

Objectives

  • Test the connection between the control application developed by the DGITM and the eFTI Gate France developed by IN Groupe
  • Test controller authentication
  • Test the nominal case of road control for transport declared on an eFTI Platform Fr
  • Test searching via UIL
  • Test searching usinf the identifier of the vehicle
  • View transport history

Pilot for French Economic operators

The main objective of this pilot is to test the use of the eFTI Gate in a real case for all transport modes. Thanks to the economic operators, the eFTI Gate will retrieve real test data provided by the economic operators and this will allow us to test the eFTI end-to-end in a French context.

Objectives

  • Testing end-to-end in France
  • Test the connection between the eFTI platform and the eFTI Gate
  • Test the connection and sending of data by the eFTI Platform
  • Test the search for transport data from an eFTI Platform and sending the data to the control application
  • Test carrying out a control via the control application

Pilot with all partners

The main goal of this pilot is to connect multiple eFTI gates and test our eFTI gates and control applications in a real-world context. This will allow us to make the necessary adjustments based on the problems encountered during the first connection and to test multi eFTI gate connection.

Objectives

  • Test the initial connection between all eFTI gates
  • Test exchanges between eFTI gates – multiple interconnections
  • Test possible error cases
  • Test eFTI gate authentications
  • Test search and data retrieval on remote eFTI Platforms using the control application
