On May 9, 2025, Transportes & Negócios, a leading Portuguese publication specialized in the transport sector, organised an important online webinar dedicated to the implementation of the eFTI Regulation. The event attracted an audience of around 60 participants, mainly representatives from transport and logistics companies, reflecting the strong interest at national level in the ongoing digital transformation shaping the freight transport industry.
The webinar provided a comprehensive overview of the eFTI Regulation, outlining its legal framework and contextualising the current phase of implementation both within Portugal and across Europe. A detailed presentation of the national roadmap for eFTI adoption highlighted the steps the country is undertaking to align with the European digital freight information standards. In addition, speakers shared insights into related European projects such as eFTI4EU and eFTI4LIVE (in which Portugal is a participating Member State) and eFTI4ALL, designed to pilot and accelerate eFTI adoption across borders.
During the event, considerable attention was given to discussing the tangible benefits and wider implications of eFTI for the freight transport sector. Participants engaged in an in-depth dialogue about critical topics such as the integration of eFTI solutions with existing CRM and ERP systems, key data protection considerations, and the costs associated with digital implementation.
The exchange of ideas also touched upon the emerging opportunities for digitalisation in freight transport, which promises to enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and the competitiveness of companies within the sector.
The webinar concluded with a lively Q&A session, providing stakeholders with the chance to raise their questions and contribute to the conversation on how best to advance the deployment of eFTI solutions in Portugal and beyond.
