From 2 to 5 June 2025, the eFTI4EU project participated in Transport Logistic, the world’s leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT, and supply chain management, held in Munich. This major event brought together industry leaders, public authorities, and digital innovators from across Europe and beyond, making it the perfect stage to discuss the future of digital freight transport and the implementation of the eFTI Regulation.

Throughout the week, representatives from the eFTI4EU team were present at the Estonian Pavilion, Stand B4 205, where the exhibition space was shared with our sister project eFTI4ALL. This joint presence demonstrated the strong collaboration between the two initiatives and the increasing efforts across Europe to digitalise freight transport information.

Across four intense and interesting days, visitors to the stand had the opportunity to learn more about the scope, objectives, and achievements of both projects. Our teams welcomed a diverse audience, ranging from transport operators and logistics providers to policymakers, researchers, and technology suppliers.

One of the clear highlights of the week was the series of thematic sessions and presentations hosted both at our shared booth and on the conference stage:

  • Introducing eFTI – How the EU is Digitalising Freight Transport”, a dedicated presentation led by the European Commission (DG MOVE), outlining the vision, regulatory framework, and progress of the eFTI Regulation.
  • Digital Freight Made Simple – Understanding the eFTI Architecture”, presented by the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV), offering a clear explanation of the architecture and operational model for eFTI systems.
  • A thematic session hosted at the booth of the Port of Gothenburg, showcasing the eFTI4ALL pilots, and providing real-world examples of how national-level implementation is moving forward.
  • Digital Freight and Dangerous Goods: How eFTI Makes It Work”, an afternoon session organised by Digilogistika Keskus (DLK) and GBK Trusted Partner GmbH, exploring the applicability of eFTI for dangerous goods transport.

In addition to these knowledge-sharing moments, and a “Happy Hour” networking event took place—which provided the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow professionals, exchange ideas, and celebrate the progress being made toward a smarter and greener freight ecosystem in Europe.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the organisers of Transport Logistic Munich, as well as to our hosts Digilogistika Keskus and Trade with Estonia. A special thanks also goes to the colleagues from DG MOVE, national authorities, and our partners from both projects for their contributions to discussions and events throughout the week.
