On 12–13 May 2025, the eFTI4EU consortium gathered in Rome for its fourth project meeting. Hosted at the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT), the event brought together all project partners, alongside representatives from the European Commission’s DG MOVE.
The meeting opened with an institutional welcome by Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini. Minister Salvini expressed his strong support for the eFTI4EU initiative and emphasised Italy’s commitment to investing in digitalisation in the transport and logistics sector – a strategic field in which the project plays a leading role.
Over the course of two productive days, partners exchanged updates on key advancements, ongoing developments, and strategic priorities for the coming months. The sessions included a series of demos that showcased progress made across various work packages and national pilots, paving the way for the next phase of implementation. In this context, an important announcement is expected soon regarding the second eFTI4EU project’s Yearly Conference.

The Rome meeting also reaffirmed the vital role of physical gatherings in strengthening collaboration and deepening dialogue within the Consortium. With positive energy, shared goals, and the Eternal City as a stunning backdrop, the event marked another step forward in advancing the eFTI Regulation across Europe.
