On June 25, 2025, the Institute for Mobility and Transport (IMT) participated in the renowned Techlogistics event held in Portugal, further showcasing the country’s engagement with the digital transformation of freight transport.

Since its inception in 2023, Techlogistics has rapidly established itself as an essential platform for logistics and supply chain professionals and enthusiasts across Portugal, emphasizing the critical role that technology and innovation play in an ever-evolving market landscape.

This year’s edition continued to attract a diverse audience eager to explore the latest advances and emerging trends shaping the future of the logistics sector. Among the numerous noteworthy sessions, IMT’s Senior Technician David Geleia delivered a focused presentation titled “Digitalization in Freight Transport,” where he articulated the progress and prospects related to the implementation of the eFTI Regulation.

During his session, Mr. Geleia outlined the current regulatory framework underpinning eFTI and highlighted the significance of digital freight information in enhancing transparency, efficiency, and compliance within the transport sector. He discussed how digitalisation efforts are gradually revolutionizing traditional processes, enabling seamless data exchange between different stakeholders along the logistics chain. Drawing on the Portuguese context, Mr. Geleia emphasized the ongoing national initiatives aligned with European projects such as eFTI4EU and eFTI4LIVE (in which Portugal is a participating Member State) and eFTI4ALL, designed to pilot and accelerate eFTI adoption across borders.

TechLogistics 2025 reaffirmed the ongoing commitment of the Portuguese logistics community to staying ahead of technological advancements and leveraging innovation to meet the demands of a dynamic supply chain environment. It also marked the second major event within a short span of just over a month where Portugal demonstrated its proactive role in advancing eFTI-related discussions and initiatives. Following the successful May 9 webinar promoted by Transportes & Negócios and featuring wide participation from transport and logistics stakeholders, the June 25 Techlogistics participation further consolidated national efforts to raise awareness, share expertise, and foster dialogue on the practical implementation of eFTI regulations.
