On 16–17 September 2025, eFTI4EU partners convened in Paris for the fifth Consortium meeting since the start of the project. The productive meeting held was at La Défense, the iconic business district of the French capital, and it was hosted by eFTI4EU partner Imprimerie Nationale, in collaboration with the French Ministry of Ecological Transition.

Representatives from all partner organizations attended, both in presence and online, alongside officials from the eFTI Team at European Commission’s DG MOVE. The event also featured participation by the Coordinator of the eFTI4ALL project, fostering valuable exchanges between the two initiatives.

Across two days of intensive discussions, the consortium reviewed ongoing activities, refined their collaborative strategies, and aligned next steps to advance the implementation of the eFTI Regulation across Europe, ahead of the crucial day of July 9 2027 — in which eFTI will enter officialy in force.

The discussions focused on concrete proposals to support the European Commission and Member States in tackling the complex topic of governance — ensuring that eFTI remains reliable and future-proof. Moreover, the consortium reviewed ongoing activities, refined collaborative strategies, and aligned next steps to advance the implementation of the eFTI framework across Europe.

In addition to formal sessions, participants benefited from networking opportunities and a social dinner that enabled informal dialogue and strengthened team spirit in the vibrant setting of la ville lumière.

The eFTI4EU Consortium expresses sincere thanks to the host organizations, Imprimerie Nationale and the French Ministry of Ecological Transition, as well as all attendees for their commitment and enthusiasm. The meeting underscored the shared dedication to improving digital interoperability in freight transport, aligning with European Green Deal objectives and enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of supply chains.
