On January 15, 2025, the French Directorate-General for Infrastructure, Transport and the Sea (Direction générale des infrastructures, des transports et des mobilités, DGITM) hosted an event titled “Séminaire Stratégie de Digitalisation de la Logistique“. This initiative brought together logistics stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to discuss advancements and strategies in digitalising freight transport.
A key focus of the seminar was the eFTI4EU project, which aims and recent development were explained to the audience. In particular, participants explored the significant economic benefits of digitalisation, including potential administrative cost savings of €20–27 billion for operators by 2040, and the project’s alignment with France’s national logistics strategy. The seminar also highlighted key challenges, such as incentivising eFTI adoption, engaging smaller operators, and creating value-added services to enhance digital transformation in logistics.
