On Wednesday December 4 2024, the eFTI4EU project took center stage during an online meeting with BITKOM, Germany’s digital association. The presentation was delivered by Birgit Faßbender from the German Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport, partner of the eFTI4EU initiative.

BITKOM, founded in 1999 and representing over 2,200 companies across Germany’s digital economy, provided a prestigious platform to showcase the transformative potential of eFTI4EU. As an advocate for the digitalization of Germany’s economy, society, and public administration, BITKOM brings together a diverse network of stakeholders, from global corporations and SMEs to startups and policymakers, all united in their goal to drive technological progress.

During her presentation, Birgit outlined the goals and achievements of the eFTI4EU project, emphasizing its role in modernizing freight transport across the EU. She highlighted how the project leverages structured datasets to enable seamless data exchange between businesses and authorities.

The meeting underscored the alignment between eFTI4EU’s objectives and BITKOM’s mission to advance data-driven innovations and promote digital infrastructure in mobility and logistics. German stakeholders were particularly interested in how eFTI4EU fosters interoperability between Member States, a critical step toward a fully integrated and digitized European freight transport network.

The presentation marked another milestone in spreading awareness of the project’s impact, building momentum for the future of digital freight transport in Germany and across Europe.
