Last Thursday, 27 February 2025, the eFTI4EU project hosted its first eFTI Insights webinar, bringing together a diverse audience to discuss the implementation of the eFTI Regulation. With over 230 participants joining remotely from across the EU and beyond, the event successfully set the stage for a series of knowledge-sharing initiatives aimed at supporting digital transformation in freight transport.
The webinar featured presentations from leading experts and Member State representatives actively working on eFTI implementation. If you wish to know more about it, please click on this link to download the full slide deck.
The agenda covered essential topics, including:

- IT Architecture and eFTI Components, presented by Christian Lüpges (Albrecht Consult) and Rudy Hemeleers (51BIZ).
- eFTI Reference Architecture: State of Play, delivered by Teemu Heikura (Fintraffic, Finland).
- Member States’ First Steps and Future Plans, discussed by Birgit Faßbender (Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport, Germany) and Victor Dolcemascolo (Ministry of Transport, France).
These sessions provided interesting insights into early implementation strategies, technical challenges, and the benefits of early adoption, ensuring that pubic sector stakeholders / Competent Authorities, ministry workers, and other relevant public sector stakeholders have the necessary tools to begin their eFTI journey.
Finally, the webinar also provided an opportunity to present the newly released eFTI Reference Implementation deliverable, which is freely available in the Project Capacity Building section of the eFTI4EU website.
