This summer, the eFTI4EU project launched the #DidYouKnow? campaign on LinkedIn, aimed at spreading awareness about the benefits of electronic Freight Transport Information (eFTI) Regulation and addressing common questions gathered during the Connecting Europe Days held in Brussels on April 2-5, 2024.
The aim of this campaign was to highlight how eFTI is not just a regulatory change, but a transformative force in the way freight moves across Europe. The campaign generated significant engagement, sparking great interest among our LinkedIn followers and industry professionals.
Following the questions gathered in Brussels, the #DidYouKnow? campaign touched several key points about eFTI Regulation and its implications for the freight transport industry.
The first post was linked to how eFTI is transforming the way freight moves across Europe, reducing administrative burdens and enabling more efficient inspections at borders.
Moreover, the series explored how each EU Member State is incorporating eFTI into its broader digitalization plans. These efforts include projects like eCMR and Maritime Single Windows, which ensure that the adoption of eFTI is synchronized across Europe, leading to a smoother, more coordinated transition to electronic freight information systems.
The technological aspect of eFTI was another key focus of the series. While the regulation sets the standards and frameworks for information exchange, it also allows Member States and the private sector flexibility in developing their own systems. This opens the door for innovation, ensuring that freight data is shared efficiently and securely.
But eFTI isn’t just a benefit for governments and regulators—it holds significant advantages for economic operators too. By reducing costs and making digital services more accessible, especially for small-scale operators, eFTI offers a smoother and more cost-effective way to manage freight transport.
Finally, the #DidYouKnow? series emphasized the critical role that eFTI4EU plays in supporting businesses in the logistics sector. By aligning digital and green transformation initiatives with EU policies, the eFTI4EU project is paving the way for a more sustainable and efficient future for freight transport.
This series would not have been possible without the valuable input and questions from the community at events like the Connecting Europe Days. Their engagement has helped shape a clearer understanding of what eFTI is, the numerous benefits it brings to the freight transport sector, and the crucial role that eFTI4EU plays in the successful implementation of this initiative across Europe.
