Italy’s final national event within the eFTI4EU project took place at Green Logistics Expo, on October 15, 2026, bringing together representatives from public authorities, enforcement bodies and logistics hubs. The event was an opportunity to share the project’s results and pilot activities, discuss practical experience and consider the next steps towards implementing electronic freight transport information (eFTI).

Organised by the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, with support from RAM S.p.A. and in collaboration with Circle S.p.A., the event gave national stakeholders a place to exchange views on how digital freight information can support more connected and efficient transport processes.

A central part of the programme was a roundtable involving control authorities and representatives of key logistics nodes. Participants discussed the outcomes of the eFTI4EU pilot activities and how eFTI could work in practice. Their exchange also highlighted the importance of interoperability and cooperation across the transport and logistics chain, so that information can be shared effectively between the organisations that need it.

The discussion connected the project’s technical and pilot work with the preparations taking place across the sector. As public authorities and businesses get ready for the implementation of the eFTI framework, cooperation between them will be essential to make digital information exchange useful in day-to-day operations. The event offered participants the opportunity to compare perspectives, raise practical considerations and strengthen working relationships.

Italy’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, also visited the eFTI4EU stand during Green Logistics Expo. The project team presented the project’s results and pilot activities, bringing its work to the attention of visitors to the exhibition.

The event concluded successfully, providing a valuable opportunity to share progress and reinforce cooperation among Italian stakeholders. It also marked the last national event organised by Italy within eFTI4EU, bringing the Italian project’s national outreach activities to a close while contributing to the wider European effort to prepare for eFTI implementation.

Through its national events, eFTI4EU has supported dialogue around the transition to electronic freight transport information and the practical questions that accomSpany it. The Padua meeting brought that exchange to Green Logistics Expo, connecting project experience with the perspectives of authorities and logistics organisations involved in the sector.

As preparations continue across Europe, the discussions in Padua underscored the value of bringing public authorities, enforcement bodies and logistics hubs together. Their cooperation will help turn the progress made through project pilots into practical experience and support the broader implementation of eFTI.
